4. Product development: High movement vs. upcoming modernization

Bexio Maintains its existing product and, in the development of new functions, primarily launches extensions outside the core product (e.g. the new escrow cockpit or bexio Pay).
bexio is being further developed, at least in part, externally by the outsourcing agency Holycode in Serbia. The core product has remained largely similar for years. Today, there is a focus on integrations and external extensions. In an official article in 2022, bexio wrote that the software architecture in its current form is difficult to expand and that modernization has been underway for some time. Some users on GetApp describe the product as stagnating, with hardly any new features for years. However, many new partner solutions are constantly being added to the marketplace.
Infinity develops everything in-house in Switzerland. Since 2024, there have been well over 100 new features and improvements rolled out — including a comprehensive redesign, new AI features such as Live Capture, Live Payments and Instant Fill, as well as various performance optimizations. 2025 was also full of new features: a revised reconciliation workflow, an advanced anti-duplicate system for bank transactions, CSV and CAMT.053 imports, multilingual documents (DE/FR/IT/EN), a public API and numerous UI improvements for greater productivity (Quick Commit, Multi-Edit, Keyboard Navigation). 7. Support: Family size vs. large support device

Bexio offers support via phone, chat and email. Due to the high number of users of over 100,000 customers, support is often heavily utilized. Loud Capterra Is the rating only 2.2 out of 5 stars. Long waiting times, little individual help, and support staff without deep product knowledge are often mentioned. Several reports also describe a “Call-first culture”: Anyone who wants to open or cancel a bexio account often receives multiple calls with the aim of influencing the decision.
